Lauren J. Sharkey is a writer, writing instructor, and editor based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her debut novel, Inconvenient Daughter, was an Independent Publisher Book Award Winner and a Foreword Reviews Book of The Year Award Winner in Multicultural Fiction.
After marrying her partner in 2022, Lauren decided to combine her two passions – storytelling and bringing people together – and pursued ordainment. After being ordained by American Marriage Ministries in 2022, Lauren successfully completed the Professional Wedding Officiant Certification course, and began marrying couples.
Lauren hopes to use her gifts to unite any couple who wishes to marry, in love. Lauren stands with Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ+ community, and believes in science.
After officiating several weddings, Lauren started assisting couples with more aspects of the wedding planning process, and soon became a full-time wedding planner. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to think outside the box (while staying in budget) has allowed her to bring couples’ dream weddings into breathtaking realities!
